My Halloween Show Reflection
I had a show on Halloween at The Fair Grinds Coffee House in New Orleans. In alignment with my intention to perform a minimum of 4 gigs per month, this was a wonderful kick-off. This show was one of my best shows! First of all, I had an amazingly attentive audience; it was a nice and intimate venue and I was not a nervous wreck, like I usually am before every performance. My percussionist and talked about how I was pacing before a show we did at Tipitina’s (lol)
When I look back I think it may have had to do with me going in and singing in the space before everyone had arrived. Maybe because I performed with my percussionist and having someone on stage with me helps to take the edge off. Maybe it was because I choose to have a good time and to be present with my breathe and with every note (even if some were a off at times) Whatever is was, as I reflect on that night I want to remember those small rituals that kept my there, kept me connecting with people.
For those of you who came, thank you for so much love. For those of you who didn’t; I’ll see you next time.
In Greatness,
GaBrilla
