Inspired by: Hanifah Walidah and 21 weeks

As I move into a space of deeper commitment to my craft and the act of cultivating community, I find that the things which we need are constantly presenting themselves to us. The inspiration is always there, if we look close enough.
Hanifah is both a long time friend of mine and one of people who is always doing work that inspires me and makes me aspire to go deeper into my practice as an artist. She and I get the opportunity to check in with each other every few months and it is always a pleasure and motivator. I feel blessed to have friends like her in my life.

One of her newest projects 21 Weeks Manifesta has me thinking about signing on, but not right now. It is a project in creativity, community and courage. I won't commit to something of this magnitude right now. My plate is already full--full time work, school, Omer, Maanav, planning a wedding, editing a friend's book as well as my own, being pregnant and planning this mini-tour. But maybe once I start knocking some of these things off, I'll be willing to do it. Maybe it'll be my maternity leave project ;) we will see. In the meantime, check Hanifah out.
